Angela Starkweather, a distinguished nurse-scientist and clinician renowned for her expertise in pain and chronic illness management
, has been appointed as the new dean of the Rutgers School of Nursing.
Starkweather brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles, including serving as the Chamings Endowed Professor in Nursing and assistant dean of research development at the University of Florida College of Nursing in Gainesville, Fla. Her background also includes leadership positions at the University of Connecticut School of Nursing and Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing.
Taking over from retiring dean Linda Flynn, Starkweather is set to lead the Rutgers School of Nursing. Under Flynn’s leadership, the school has seen significant national rankings and advancements in research growth.
